Gift guide for people with chronic illness

Christmas is getting closer and closer and if you’re like me then youre starting to worry about buying everyone gifts. I love gift giving but sometimes it can be really difficult to buy gifts so I love looking at peoples gift guides.

I’ve listed a bunch of different gifts that are perfect for someone who has a chronic illness but these items would make great gifts for everyone.

1. Heat Holders Thermal socks

A few Christmases ago, my friends bought me a pair of these thermal socks and blimey they are amazing. If you’re someone who gets cold easily, thermal socks are the way to go. They are especially good if you have chronic foot pain because they keep you warm and they are soft so they wont irritate your skin.

2. Lavazza Milk frother

This product is great for any coffee or hot chocolate lover. It isn’t a necessity for people with chronic illness but its a luxury product to spice up your hot drink and make them feel a bit more special. I love my milk frother because I can make a latte at home without going out to a cafe.

3. Microwaveable eye mask

Ive added this eye mask to my christmas list this year because it sounds perfect for migraines and sinus pain. I’ve been getting a lot of migraines lately and when I get one I have to go to bed and wear ear plugs and an eye mask. A heated one sounds just perfect for migraines and a lot of people swear by them. This one is a grey faux fur one and its got a lavender scent to help you fall asleep quicker.

4. Portable charger

Sometimes when you have a chronic illness, it can be difficult to get up and do simple things like put your phone on charge. I have a small portable charger that I use for days like that when I cant get up and plug my phone in at the other side of my bedroom. They are also super handy to carry about with you in your handbag.

5. Microwaveable teddy

Who doesn’t love a cute little teddy bear? I love any kind of stuffed animal to have sitting on my bed when Im having a flare up or a bad day. Microwavable teddies are the best invention! I had a pink one when I was a little girl and I used to take it to bed with me every night in the winter months.

6. Microwaveable heat pack

My microwaveable heat pack is by far the best purchase I have ever made for myself. I use it on my neck every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. These are great because you can use them on any part of your body but they are especially good for your neck and stomach. You can buy them anywhere and I can guarantee that anyone would appreciate one for Christmas and they cost less than £10.

7. Electric blanket

I don’t know how I survived winters before I had an electric blanket. I think everyone needs one! They are an essential for the colder months especially if you have any chronic illness. Its perfect for flare ups and if you find it hard to warm up once you’re cold. You can buy them in any colour and size now. Ive had mine for a few years and it still works perfectly (Im actually using it right now as I write).

Which item was your favourite? Hopefully this post has helped someone who is finding it hard to buy Christmas presents this year. Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

I love all of these, and I might have to share the list with family asking about presents this year ! I think my favorite might be the socks or the electric blanket. I’m always looking for good cozy socks as it seems I can never get warm! And I’ve had an eye on an electric blanket for a year now!

You should definitely ask for a heated blanket. It’s an essential for sure! X
