In the world of social media, we are so used to seeing photoshopped photos with filters and it’s easy to start disliking yourself. So many influencers and celebrities (yes I’m talking about you the Kardashian/Jenner clan) it’s so easy for us to see those selfies and think “I wish I looked like them” but in reality they don’t even like like them.
With photoshop, filters, angles and lighting hacks being the “norm” I think it’s so important especially for us women and young girls to follow body positivity accounts. Following women who don’t use photoshop or special angles has massively helped me with my confidence. I’ve found so many amazing women I now look up to who I love to follow.
I’ve followed Sarah for a few years now. She’s one of the first body confidence influencers I followed and she inspires and helps me so much. Sarah’s a mother and she’s expecting another baby in a few months time. She’s completely honest about diet culture, her past divorce, weight loss and body confidence and I really admire her for that.
Everytime one of Belles posts come up on my Instagram feed, I smile. She really is inspiring and everytime I read her posts I feel happy. Belle is a body confidence and self love influencer from the UK with a smaller following. She takes the most beautiful photos and you won’t regret following her.
Ariella is a beautiful Australian curve model and influencer. She has over half a million Instagram followers and she even has her own YouTube channel. She recently had a breast reduction and she’s shared every moment of that journey with her followers. She has a private Facebook page for females to join and its one of the most positive places I’ve found on the Internet. Joining it has made such a difference to my mental health. Ariella started her own self love app called The Self Love Bible app where she helps girls and women learn to love themselves inside and out. You can read more about her app on the website https://theselflovebiblestore.com/ or you can download the app in the apple app store.
Chloe is a sex, relationship and fashion blogger. She has a great blog called thelittleplum.co.uk and she’s one of my favourite influencers because she’s so normal and down to earth. I feel like she’s one of my close friends. And she has the best style!
Mary is amazing! She has her own Ted talk, her own podcast called Mary’s Podcast and a successful Instagram dedicated to self love. She’s recovered from an eating disorder and helps others on their journey to recovery. She used to do bikini competitions and she talks openly about how that affected her mental health and made her spiral. She’s so inspiring and her posts are my favourites.
Do you follow any self love influencers on Instagram? Who’s your favourite and why?
